1st Annual Lockhart Kite Day and Community Picnic
This fun-filled, family-friendly event is designed to bring the Lockhart community together for a day of outdoor recreation. The Lockhart Kite Day offers free kites, food, live music, and a range of games and activities for both individuals and families. Our goal is to create a stress-free environment where families and community members can enjoy the beauty of flying kites, participating in contests, and building lasting memories. With free shuttles from key locations around Lockhart and surrounding areas, the event is easily accessible to all. We also hope to showcase local pride and encourage support for future community recreation events.

Divided into multiple divisions, families will compete for prizes and the title of Family Field Day Champion—an honor that will carry on yearly, creating an ongoing tradition.

Annual Lockhart Business Basketball Bash
This community basketball tournament invites local businesses to sponsor teams, either comprised of employees or community members, to compete in a 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 basketball tournament. This event offers businesses a chance to engage in the community while raising funds for local programs. The competition will also feature mini-games like free throw and 3-point contests. Winners will take home cash prizes, trophies, and bragging rights for the year.

The Youth Tournament will follow select league rules with multiple divisions, while the Adult Tournament will feature 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 half-court games. Both tournaments aim to attract serious competitors and raise funds through registration fees and concessions.

We’ll offer additional programming such as DB/WR competitions or lineman challenges to engage attendees during breaks in play.

Lineman Challenge
The Lineman Challenge is a mix of strength and agility-based competitions that highlight the skills of these often-overlooked players. We’ll honor the memory of Ray Sedwick, a beloved lineman and powerlifter, by naming the event after him. This challenge will be open to teams and individuals, with both earning points throughout the day. Proceeds from this event will fund scholarships awarded in Ray’s name.

Athletes will also be honored, with scholarships awarded to standout seniors based on their academic, athletic, and community achievements. The banquet will feature guest speakers, a Hall of Fame-style recognition, and a special segment where coaches are honored by their peers.
